What Is the Ridiculously Large Edition?

The Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza Ridiculously Large Edition is exactly what it sounds like: a supersized version of the wildly popular card game by Dolphin Hat Games. Every card has been blown up to a massive 8.5" × 6" — more than six times the area of a standard playing card — making it perfect for situations where a normal deck just doesn't cut it.

The gameplay is 100% identical to the original. No new rules, no learning curve. If you've played the original, you can pick this up and start immediately. The only difference is scale.

Card Types

🌮🐱🐐🧀🍕

Main Cards (55)

11 cards each of Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, and Pizza

Special Action Cards (9)

Special Action Cards Explained

Card Action Before Slapping
🦍 GorillaBeat your chest twice with both fists
🦦 GroundhogKnock on the table twice with both fists
🦭 NarwhalPut both hands together above your head like a narwhal horn

When a special card is flipped, all players must perform the action before slapping the pile. The last player to complete the action and slap takes the pile.

How to Play

The rules are simple enough to explain in under a minute, but the chaos keeps every round fresh.

Basic Rules Step by Step

1

Deal the cards

Shuffle all 64 cards and deal them face-down as evenly as possible. Players keep their pile face-down in front of them without looking.

2

Chant and flip

Players take turns flipping their top card face-up onto the center pile while saying the next word in the sequence: Taco → Cat → Goat → Cheese → Pizza → Taco → Cat… and so on.

3

Slap on a match

When the word spoken matches the image on the flipped card (e.g., you say "Cat" and a Cat card appears), everyone races to slap the pile. The last player to slap takes the entire pile and adds it to the bottom of their hand.

4

Special cards trigger actions

When a Gorilla, Groundhog, or Narwhal card is flipped, all players must perform the matching action before slapping. The last to do so takes the pile.

5

Win by emptying your hand

The first player to get rid of all their cards wins. If you run out of cards mid-turn, you're still in — wait for the next slap opportunity to steal the pile back.

Who Is It Best For?

Party & Outdoor Play

The whole point of the Ridiculously Large Edition is visibility. Standard cards get lost on a big table or in bright sunlight. At 8.5" × 6", these cards are easy to see from across a picnic blanket, a backyard table, or a crowded living room floor. It's the go-to choice for:

  • ✅ Backyard BBQs and outdoor gatherings
  • ✅ Beach and camping trips
  • ✅ Family game nights with mixed ages
  • ✅ School or community events
  • ✅ Holiday parties and gift exchanges
  • ✅ Groups of 5–8 players where small cards get crowded
  • ✅ Playing with young kids who struggle with small cards
  • ✅ Anyone who just wants the silliest version possible

Age Range & Group Size

Officially rated for ages 7+, the game works well for kids, teens, and adults alike. The 2–8 player range covers most group sizes. With 8 players the game gets chaotic fast — which is exactly the point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Ridiculously Large Edition the same game as the original?

Yes, completely. The rules, card types, and gameplay are identical. The only difference is the card size — 8.5" × 6" vs the standard ~3.5" × 2.5".

How many cards are in the Ridiculously Large Edition?

64 cards total: 55 main cards (11 each of Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza), 9 special action cards (3 each of Gorilla, Groundhog, Narwhal), plus rule cards.

Can I mix the Ridiculously Large Edition with the standard deck?

Technically the rules allow it, but the mismatched sizes would make it obvious which cards are which — removing the surprise element. It's best played as a standalone deck.

Is it worth the extra cost over the standard edition?

If you play mostly at home or in small groups, the standard edition is fine. But for parties, outdoor events, or groups of 6+, the oversized cards genuinely improve the experience — and the novelty factor alone makes it a great gift.

Where is the cheapest place to buy it?

Target typically has the best everyday price at $19.99. Amazon lists it at $24.99 but may have deals during sales events. Check both before buying.
